Kitasui tunnel was built of brick on the sidetrack to the Navy port in 1904. The sidetrack was removed and changed into a road for pedestrians and cyclists. Enter a nostalgic world once you walk through the beautifully arched tunnel.
Maizuru's ancient castle town atmosphere is still present in her old-fashioned houses.
The route starts at Higashi-Maizuru Station, passes through the Kitasui brick tunnel, and winds around Akarenga (Red Brick) Park.
