Structure: Brick construction
Year of construction: 1904
This 110-meter-long brick tunnel was constructed in 1904 as part of a railway spur line connecting the newly established Shin-Maizuru Station (present-day Higashi-Maizuru Station) to naval facilities, coinciding with the construction of the government-owned Maizuru Railway Line linking Osaka and Maizuru. As a prominent remnant of the old naval base spur line that supported Maizuru’s industrialization, this structure is now widely used by residents as a pedestrian walkway.
